Work and Study in Germany - Prüfungsnummer 9915434

(Focus on Schweinfurt and the surrounding area)

Description of Course Content:
The topics are designed to better your understanding about where you are, the significance of Franconia in the fathering of Europe - Karl the Great, Martin Luther and church reformation, Leopoldina University and wine making. (We shall visit: Volkach, Bad Neustadt, Prichsenstadt and Schweinfurt - if possible). A tour in English of ZF Friedrichshafen´s Apprentice Training Facilities (both commercial and industrial facilities) here in Schweinfurt will also be offered, given that time allows.

Objectives:
Comfort is often found in knowledge and the understanding of what you are looking at. With a minimum of understanding about what happened here in this area you will better be able to understand what you see and possibly feel more at home.
The following grammar will be presented and graded in the 90-minute written examination: active and passive voices, Greek and Latin prefixes and suffixes and also if clauses.

Is this the right course for me?
This course will be in English only - so future participants should be able to:

  • understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning,
  • express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions,
  • use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes,
  • produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
